This place suits me perfectly, with great wi-fi, friendly 24-hour reception, and a lovely bar/lounge area. I still remember how the staff helped me retrieve my forgotten earpods. I highly recommend dining basket. I'm coming back for a city break....  

I had a lovely stay at Fontevraud L'Ermitage in the abbey grounds. The serene atmosphere made for a peaceful getaway. The free access to the abbey at night really sets this place apart. Exploring the beautifully restored abbey after hours felt magical. My room, a Classic Double Room, was simply furnished and had large windows that overlooked the gardens. It felt spacious and welcoming. Breakfast showcased local products and had a good selection, though some items were a bit lukewarm. Service was friendly and attentive, particularly at the reception, which was a plus. Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked during my visit, which was disappointing. Also, the gym facilities felt more like an afterthought. The limited equipment didn’t really cater to a proper workout. Overall, while I loved the unique experience and stunning location, the dining reservation system and gym facilities could definitely use some attention.

I loved wandering the quiet grounds of the abbey on a summer evening, taking in the beauty of the landscape and the sense of history that surrounded me, and I also appreciated that the hotel is just a short walk from the stunning Chateau de Montsoreau-Museum of Contemporary Art, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

I absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere and the beautiful views from my comfort double room, making my stay truly special. The hotel offered a peaceful garden area and relaxing sun loungers, perfect for winding down after a day of exploring. One minor hiccup was that I couldn’t secure a dinner reservation for Friday night, so be sure to book ahead if you want to dine in. 🌿

The location is stunning, allowing access to explore historic grounds late into the night in tranquility. The breakfast is remarkable, especially the oeuf cocotte with creamy bacon sauce, highlighting a commitment to quality local ingredients. However, navigating the grounds can be challenging, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. Additionally, relying on the IPAD for basic services can be frustrating if it malfunctions, and the lack of air conditioning made the afternoons uncomfortable without a breeze.
